The Clearing (2004) is a psychological thriller starring Robert Redford as Wayne Hayes, a successful businessman kidnapped in Pittsburgh by a disgruntled former employee, Arnold Mack (Willem Dafoe). While Wayne navigates a tense, forced journey in the woods, his wife Eileen (Helen Mirren) negotiates with the FBI and the kidnapper to secure his release.
