Stones in Exile is a 2010 documentary chronicling the chaotic creation of the Rolling Stones’ landmark 1972 album “Exile on Main St.” Facing tax exile, legal troubles, and personal turmoil, the band decamped to a villa in the south of France, turning its basement into a makeshift studio. Mixing rare footage, photos, and band interviews, it offers a vivid snapshot of rock history. While compelling for fans, its short runtime leaves some wanting more depth.
