Dragons: Defenders of Berk – Part 1 picks up immediately after the events of Dragons: Riders of Berk, following Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, Toothless, and the other dragon riders as they continue protecting the Isle of Berk. The season opens with the Outcast Tribe, led by Alvin the Treacherous, stealing the Book of Dragons, a powerful tome that could teach anyone how to train dragons. This sets the stage for Alvin’s eventual turn to dragon training. Meanwhile, Hiccup and his friends face new and dangerous threats. A major new enemy is revealed: the Skrill, a lightning-powered dragon discovered frozen in ice. When it thaws, it’s captured by Alvin. Hiccup, Ruffnut, and Tuffnut go undercover to uncover a secret truce between the Outcasts and the Berserkers, who plan to invade Berk and use the Skrill as a weapon. The trio races to free the Skrill before the alliance is finalized.
