Ransom (1996) is a thriller about millionaire airline owner Tom Mullen (Mel Gibson) whose son is kidnapped for $2 million, but after a botched payment, Mullen turns the tables by offering the ransom money as a bounty for the kidnappers' capture, leading to a tense cat-and-mouse game with the criminals, led by a crooked detective (Gary Sinise).
