Lilies is a British period drama set in Liverpool in the early 1920s, immediately after the First World War. Created by Heidi Thomas, the eight‑episode series follows Iris, May, and Ruby Moss, three Catholic sisters living with their widowed father and brother in a terraced house in the docklands. The story is grounded in realism, drawing on Thomas’s own family memories. The sisters’ lives are shaped by poverty, familial love, and the changing world around them. Each girl must forge her own path, and in the course of the series, they all experience their first passionate love, which irrevocably changes their futures.
