Elton John: Someone Like Me
DVD
Format: Pre-Owned DVD
Elton John: Someone Like Me is a 2007 documentary directed by Bob Franklin that chronicles the extraordinary life and career of Sir Elton John, from a shy, bespectacled schoolboy to one of the most successful and iconic recording artists in the world. The film opens with the quote that gives it its title: “The greatest thing about Rock and Roll is that someone like me can be a star.” It then traces Elton’s early years — a 14-year-old playing Jim Reeves songs in a Pinner pub — to his meteoric rise in the early 1970s, when he was 23 and adopted an outrageous stage persona that turned him into a rock sensation.
