Taxi Driver (1976) is a gritty psychological drama directed by Martin Scorsese, following Travis Bickle (Robert De Niro), an insomniac Vietnam veteran working night-shift taxi driving in a decayed, crime-ridden NYC. Alienated and disgusted by urban filth, Bickle’s mental health deteriorates, prompting him to become a violent vigilante who rescues a teenage prostitute, Iris.
