DVD
Format: Pre-Owned DVD
Abraham and Mary Lincoln: A House Divided is a six-part PBS American Experience documentary series directed by David Grubin, written by Geoffrey C. Ward and David Grubin, and narrated by David McCullough. It premiered in 2001 and is the first dual biography of the 16th U.S. President and his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln. The series follows the couple from their strikingly different childhoods — Abraham growing up in a remote backwoods log cabin in Kentucky, and Mary in a wealthy Southern household as the daughter of a slave owner — to their courtship, marriage, and years in the White House. It explores their passionate but turbulent relationship, marked by political ambition, personal conflicts, and the loss of their children.
