The Lord of the Rings: War in the North tells an original story concurrent with the main Lord of the Rings events, following a trio of heroes—Eradan the Ranger, Andriel the Loremaster, and Farin the Dwarf Champion—as they fight Sauron's forces in the North under the direction of Aragorn. Their mission is to track and defeat Agandaûr, a powerful Black Númenórean and lieutenant of Sauron, who is gathering forces in the North to divert attention from Frodo's quest to destroy the One Ring. The narrative expands the scope of the war, portraying events in the northern regions and providing a parallel story to the Fellowship's journey.
