The Last Song is a 1980 American made‑for‑television thriller drama about a woman who becomes entangled in a deadly cover‑up involving toxic waste. The story follows Brooke Newman (Lynda Carter), a young mother and aspiring singer. Her husband, a sound technician, is murdered after recording a conversation that reveals a plan to hide a fatal toxic waste accident. In the process, Brooke inadvertently comes into possession of several tapes containing evidence of the cover‑up. As she tries to expose the truth, Brooke and her daughter are pursued by the killers who murdered her husband and his partner in an electronic‑eavesdropping business. The film builds tension as Brooke must protect her family while uncovering the conspiracy, leading to a high‑stakes chase and confrontation in the climax.
