Galactica 1980 is a science fiction television series that serves as a continuation of the original Battlestar Galactica. Set 30 years after the original series, the Galactica crew arrives on Earth in 1980, only to discover that the planet is not technologically advanced enough to help them battle the Cylons. They must now work to advance Earth's technology and protect it from the Cylons. The series explores themes of survival and the impact of the Galactica on Earth, as well as the challenges faced by the crew in their new environment.
