Doctor Who: Twice Upon a Time is the 2017 Christmas special where the Twelfth Doctor, Peter Capaldi, refuses to regenerate and instead teams up with the First Doctor, David Bradley, who is also resisting his own regeneration. The two Doctors are pulled into a final adventure that involves a time-displaced World War I captain, a mysterious spaceship, and the memory-collecting organization known as Testimony. The story serves as a farewell to the Twelfth Doctor and explores themes of hope, change, and the enduring nature of the Doctor's journey.
