Tropic Thunder (2008) is a satirical action-comedy directed by Ben Stiller that parodies Hollywood, method acting, and famous war films like Apocalypse Now and Platoon. The plot follows a group of egotistical, pampered actors who are dropped into the middle of a Southeast Asian jungle to film a high-budget Vietnam War movie, only to unknowingly stumble into a real-life war zone controlled by drug lords.
