The Nest is a 2021 American horror film directed by James Suttles, based on a story by Jennifer Trudrung. It follows Beth (Sarah Navratil), Jack (Kevin Patrick Murphy), and their young daughter Meg (Maple Suttles) as they move into a deceased family member’s home after Beth’s past drug addiction has strained her marriage and cost her a teaching job. After Meg suffers a traumatic accident, she develops extreme separation anxiety and becomes increasingly attached to her stuffed bear, Ricky. Beth grows more estranged from Jack, suspecting something sinister is happening within the family. Her suspicions deepen when Jack and their friend Marisa (Dee Wallace) also show signs of attachment to Meg and each other. Beth is haunted by nightmarish visions of parasitic creatures that threaten to engulf her family and her sanity. As the situation spirals, she is drawn into a web of emotional dependency, drug addiction, and self-sacrifice, forcing her to confront the disturbing truth about the creatures inside Ricky and the growing influence they have over her loved ones.
