Silpheed: The Lost Planet is a 2000 PlayStation 2 vertical-scrolling space shooter and the direct sequel to the 1986 Silpheed game. The story takes place 31 years after the events of the first game, in a universe where most human colonies in the Solar System have been destroyed by an alien civilization known as the UTOO. Humanity’s last hope is a squadron of advanced starfighters called Silpheeds, deployed to hunt down the UTOO and protect the remaining colonies
