"Six Feet Under" season one revolves around the Fisher family, who own and operate a funeral home in Los Angeles, after the sudden death of their patriarch, Nathaniel Fisher, on Christmas Eve. The season explores how the family grapples with grief, navigates the complexities of their personal lives, and confronts the challenges of running a funeral business. Nate, the eldest son, returns home to join the family business, while David, the younger son, struggles with his sexuality and the prospect of taking over the business. The season also introduces Brenda, Nate's love interest, and highlights the lives of Ruth, the matriarch, and Claire, the youngest sibling.
