"Saving General Yang" is set during the early Northern Song dynasty, AD 986, in northeastern China. The story follows the legendary Generals of the Yang Family as they face a horde of enemies to rescue their father, General Yang Ye. The Khitan army takes its revenge for a past massacre, abducting General Yang Ye and leaving his wife and seven sons to rescue him. The seven sons, led by the eldest, set out with a small band of fighters to face an army of thousands, brave the treacherous Wolf Mountain, and find the way back alive to bring their father home.
