The film is based on the role-playing game of the same name and depicts a dystopian future where Earth's natural resources have been depleted, leading to constant warfare among four powerful corporations: Capitol, Bauhaus, Mishima, and Imperial. The story begins when a machine, which has the ability to mutate humans into mindless killing machines known as "mutants," is accidentally uncovered during a battle between the Capitol and Bauhaus corporations.
