In the 1868 film Master of the World, Vincent Price plays the fanatical pacifist Robur, who kidnaps a team of American scientists and aviators after they investigate mysterious activity from his enormous airship, the Albatross. Robur intends to use his flying fortress to bomb military installations around the globe and enforce world peace, but the hostages, led by John Strock (Charles Bronson), hatch a plan to stop him. The film combines elements from Jules Verne's novels Robur the Conqueror and Master of the World.
