Many Rivers to Cross (1955) is a Western romantic comedy about a free-spirited trapper, Bushrod Gentry (Robert Taylor), who tries to avoid marriage but ends up in a shotgun wedding with the fiery, sharpshooting Mary Stewart Cherne (Eleanor Parker) on the 1798 Kentucky frontier after she saves his life, leading to comical adventures as he tries to escape but keeps getting pulled back into her world and the settlers' lives.
