Madden NFL 20 is the 30th installment in EA Sports’ long-running Madden NFL series, released on August 2, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. It was developed by EA Tiburon and designed by Clint Oldenburg, using the Frostbite 3 engine for enhanced realism. The game’s cover athlete is Patrick Mahomes, quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs. Mahomes became the second player after Rob Gronkowski to win a Super Bowl in the same season they were on the Madden cover, and the first to win Super Bowl MVP while doing so, breaking the “Madden Curse” — a long-standing trend where cover athletes often suffered injuries before the season ended.
