Set in medieval Europe, "Ladyhawke" follows the story of Philippe Gaston, a thief known as "The Mouse," who escapes from the dungeons of Aquila just before his execution. He is soon rescued by Captain Etienne Navarre, a mysterious knight who is on a quest to confront the Bishop of Aquila, who has cursed him and his beloved, Lady Isabeau. The curse forces Navarre to transform into a wolf at night while Isabeau becomes a hawk during the day, preventing them from ever being together in their human forms.
