Offspring (2009) is a horror film based on Jack Ketchum's novel, centering on a clan of feral, flesh-eating cannibals that resurfaces in Dead River, Maine, a decade after being presumed dead. The tribe abducts local residents, leading to a brutal fight for survival involving a local family and a retired sheriff.

Seventh Moon (2008) is a horror-thriller directed by Eduardo Sánchez (The Blair Witch Project), following an American couple, Melissa (Amy Smart) and Yul (Tim Chiou), honeymooning in rural China. They become stranded during the "Hungry Ghost" festival, where ancient legends come alive, forcing them to survive a night of terror against pale, demonic creatures that roam the countryside.
