The plots involve Lucy's schemes to get Ricky more screen time, like pretending to be his agent, and her misadventures in trying to get noticed by Hollywood figures, such as Hedda Hopper. Other storylines include Lucy trying to run a business out of their apartment, her attempts to get a part in Ricky's new TV show, and the chaos of learning to drive for the trip.
