Four Days in September (1997), directed by Bruno Barreto, is a Brazilian historical thriller loosely based on the 1969 kidnapping of U.S. Ambassador Charles Burke Elbrick by the Revolutionary Movement 8th October (MR‑8) and the Ação Libertadora Nacional (ALN). It dramatizes the events leading up to and during the abduction, set against the backdrop of Brazil’s military dictatorship.
