In this 1971 science fiction film, Cornelius and Zira, along with Dr. Milo, escape the destruction of their home planet after the events of "Beneath the Planet of the Apes." They salvage and repair the spacecraft used by astronaut Taylor and are propelled through a time warp, landing in 1973 Los Angeles. Initially, they are taken to the Los Angeles Zoo, where they are observed by scientists Dr. Stephanie Branton and Dr. Lewis Dixon.
