For Ecca Vandal, punk was survival – a way in, and a way out. Born to a Sri Lankan family in South Africa and raised in Australia, she grew up under pressure to fit a mold. Punk blew that open. It was her way of pushing back, of refusing silence. Trained in jazz but craving something louder, she found freedom in being raw and unapologetic. Turning rebellion into identity, and identity into sound.
