Duel at Diablo is a 1966 Western directed by Ralph Nelson, based on Marvin H. Albert’s novel Apache Rising. It blends frontier survival, personal vendettas, and cultural tension in Apache territory. The story unfolds in the harsh, sun-bleached lands of the Apache frontier, where a narrow canyon called Diablo Canyon looms as both a potential refuge and a deadly trap. A military supply convoy, led by Lt. “Scotty” McAllister, must deliver ammunition and supplies to Fort Concho through dangerous Apache territory.
