Carnival of Monsters is a 1973 Third Doctor (Jon Pertwee) serial featuring the Doctor and Jo Grant trapped inside a "Miniscope," a banned, hand-held device displaying miniaturized, repeating scenes of life, including a 1920s ship and dangerous Drashig monsters. The story, written by Robert Holmes, is noted for its clever, low-stakes political satire and marks the Third Doctor’s return to traveling in the TARDIS.
