A comic-book writer (Ben Affleck) stumbles upon the love of his life, only to discover that she (Joey Lauren Adams) is gay. The situation is aggravated by his roommate and professional partner (Jason Lee) who becomes increasingly threatened by the possibility that he will be replaced. The third film in writer-directors New Jersey trilogy, following on from `Clerks' and `Mallrats'.
