The Birds of Prey series is set in New Gotham City, several years after Batman's disappearance. The team, consisting of Huntress, Oracle, and Dinah, takes on the mantle of protecting the city and battling crime. The series explores the concept of metahumans, individuals born with powers that cannot be explained, and the subculture of metahumans that the outside world does not know about. The Birds of Prey, with the help of Alfred Pennyworth and Detective Jesse Reese, confronts various new villains and continues Batman's legacy of justice.
