Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk follows 19-year-old Army Specialist Billy Lynn and his Bravo Squad after a harrowing Iraq firefight is filmed and turns them into national heroes. Sent home for a two-week "Victory Tour," they arrive at a Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving game, the tour's finale. Over the course of the day, Billy and the squad navigate media appearances, encounters with a Hollywood producer, and a grand halftime show, all while contrasting the war's grim reality with America's superficial patriotic perception and grappling with the trauma and complex emotions of their experiences.
