Antitrust is a 2001 American techno-thriller directed by Peter Howitt, written by Howard Franklin, and starring Ryan Phillippe as Milo Hoffman, alongside Rachael Leigh Cook, Claire Forlani, and Tim Robbins. The story follows Milo Hoffman, a talented young Stanford graduate and software programmer who works with friends on a garage-based project to develop an open-source MP3 player. He is approached by Gary Winston (Tim Robbins), CEO of the fictional tech giant NURV (“Never Underestimate Radical Vision”), who offers him a lucrative, high-pressure job to help complete the company’s flagship product, Synapse — a global satellite network for multimedia distribution
