In season two of Angel, written and co-created by Joss Whedon, the titular character continues his quest for redemption while facing new challenges from Wolfram & Hart, the law firm with ties to the supernatural, and from his own past. A central plot involves Darla, Angel's former lover, being resurrected as a human, and Angel's attempts to help her find redemption as well, mirroring his own struggle. Wolfram & Hart also orchestrate events to undermine Angel's efforts, including bringing in Drusilla to torment him and destabilize the city. Meanwhile, Cordelia, Wesley, and Gunn join Angel as a team, and they face various supernatural threats, including a dangerous demon from another dimension and a mind-altering Shroud. The season also explores themes of existentialism, the nature of humanity, and the consequences of one's actions, both good and bad.
