Aliens: Colonial Marines is a 2013 first-person shooter developed by Gearbox Software and published by Sega, set in the Alien universe and taking place shortly after the events of the 1986 film Aliens. The game follows a contingent of United States Colonial Marines aboard the USS Sephora, dispatched to LV-426 in response to a distress signal from the USS Sulaco — the ship that carried Ellen Ripley, Hicks, Newt, and the android Bishop away from the planet at the end of Aliens. The mission has three objectives: 1. Investigate the Sulaco and determine the fate of its crew. 2. Secure LV-426 and neutralize any remaining Xenomorph threats. 3. Uncover the truth behind the distress call.
