27 Dresses (2008) follows perpetual bridesmaid Jane (Katherine Heigl), a selfless people-pleaser always in the background of others' weddings, who falls for her boss while secretly writing bridal columns under a pseudonym, only to have her world upended when her self-centered sister Tess (Malin Akerman) arrives and snags the boss, forcing Jane to confront her own needs with the help of cynical wedding reporter Kevin (James Marsden) in a classic rom-com journey of self-discovery and finding one's own happiness.
