Pokémon White Version 2 is set two years after the events of Pokémon Black and White. The player, Nate, a male protagonist, or Rosa, a female protagonist, starts in Aspertia City, the largest hometown to date. The game introduces new locations and challenges, as well as the resurgence of Team Plasma, a group that was abandoned by their former leader N after a long fight with Hilbert and Hilda. Team Plasma aims to control Pokémon and dominate the world by harnessing the power of the legendary Pokémon Kyurem. The player's rival, Hugh, has a personal vendetta against Team Plasma and seeks to recover a stolen Pokémon. The story culminates in a plan by Team Plasma to freeze Unova using Kyurem, leading to a climactic battle where the player must defeat the frozen dragon to save the region.
