Set 100 years after the original series, Mega Man X follows X, a highly advanced, free-willed robot discovered by Dr. Cain. When similar robots, "Reploids," turn "Maverick" and rebel under the villainous Sigma, X joins the Maverick Hunters, led by Zero, to stop the uprising and save humanity.
