Sam Reide has the power to travel back in time by inhabiting his younger body, which he uses to help the police solve crimes. He tries to find his murdered ex-girlfriend's killer after her sister discovers the wrong person was convicted, but each attempt to fix the past only creates worse circumstances, including the accidental release of a serial killer. His efforts to resolve the mystery and the increasing changes to the timeline also cause his own memory to become scrambled, leaving him in a worse situation with each jump.
