Shredder leaves for Japan, and returns with Tiger Claw. Season 2 also sees the mutation of Spike. In The Manhattan Project, the Turtles learn of the existence of their alternate counterparts. The season ends with The Invasion, where the Turtles are separated from Splinter and have to retreat from New York City.
