In Season 2 of Nurse Jackie, Jackie Peyton, played by Edie Falco, faces a series of challenges as she navigates her addiction and personal life. The season begins with Jackie attempting to reconnect with her family on the beach after cutting ties with her former lover, Eddie. However, her attempts to maintain control over her drug use are met with increasing scrutiny from her colleagues and family. Dr. O'Hara discovers Jackie's deception about her addiction, and Kevin discovers that Jackie has stolen money meant for their daughters' school, leading him to abandon her and the girls. The season ends with Jackie's drug addiction fully exposed to both Kevin and Dr. O'Hara, but she defiantly refuses help, leaving her future uncertain.
