Mindcage (2022) is a thriller about detectives Jake Doyle (Martin Lawrence) and Mary Kelly (Melissa Roxburgh) hunting a copycat serial killer mimicking the gruesome methods of incarcerated killer "The Artist" (John Malkovich). To catch the new killer, Mary must engage in a psychological game with The Artist in prison, delving into his twisted mind as the crimes escalate, leading to unexpected twists and a dark, twisty conclusion that many critics found derivative and confusing.
