Lost Season 2 follows the crash survivors as they discover the mysterious Dharma Initiative hatch, which contains a computer that must be activated every 108 minutes to prevent catastrophe, and encounter other survivors from the plane's tail section, known as the "Tailies". While the surface survivors and the Tailies clash, a growing conflict erupts between Jack and Locke over the hatch's controls, ultimately leading to the island's detection by the outside world and the capture of Jack, Kate, and Sawyer by a mysterious group known as The Others. Michael betrays the group to rescue his son, Walt, ultimately leading to Michael and Walt's departure on a boat and the hatch's electromagnetic discharge.
