The fourth season of JAG features a mix of intense legal battles and personal growth for the main characters. Harm and Mac are initially presumed dead but later discover a deeper mystery about Harm's father. The season includes investigations such as an undercover operation at an embassy, the suspected rape of a Japanese national, and an execution on national television. Additionally, Bud is promoted to Lieutenant, Harriet Sims is promoted to Lieutenant J.G., and Mac's "little sister" Chloe arrives at JAG. The season also sees Harm receiving combat orders and making a pact to have children with Mac. The production team filmed some scenes in Washington, D.C., and the United States Navy was supportive of the series, treating it with the same enthusiasm as other productions.
