Season 1 of Gilligan's Island introduces the premise of seven castaways stranded on a deserted island after a storm destroys their boat, the S.S. Minnow, during a "three-hour tour". The group includes the Skipper and his first mate, Gilligan, along with a millionaire couple, a movie star, a farm girl, and a professor. The season focuses on their daily struggles to survive, their interactions with each other, and their failed attempts to escape the island, often complicated by Gilligan's well-intentioned but clumsy actions.
