Smash Williams' ego inflates, Matt Saracen deals with his grandmother's worsening dementia and a breakup, and Julie Taylor clashes with her mother Tami. Meanwhile, Tyra Collette grapples with the aftermath of a traumatic event. The season also sees Tim Riggins and Lyla Garrity begin a relationship, and Jason Street eventually moves to New York.
