Family Guy Volume 4 encompasses Season 4, which includes storylines such as Peter's return to his job at the Pawtucket Brewery, Cleveland's divorce from Loretta after her affair with Quagmire, Stewie traveling to the future to meet his older self, and Peter's ancestor's history being revealed during a family panic room event. A direct-to-DVD movie, Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story, was also released, which combined the season's episodes into a single narrative about Stewie seeing his future.
