The film "Escape from Sobibor" is a gripping account of the mass escape from the Nazi extermination camp at Sobibor, the most successful uprising by Jewish prisoners of German extermination camps. The story unfolds on October 14, 1943, when a group of Jewish prisoners, led by Leon Feldhendler, devise a plan to escape the camp. They lure SS officers and NCOs into traps, killing them one by one. The remaining prisoners, now unarmed, march out of the camp as if they have been ordered to, hoping the Ukrainian guards will not notice the absence of Germans. The film highlights the courage and determination of the prisoners, as well as the brutal realities of the camp.
