Elizabeth I is a two-part 2005 British American historical drama miniseries directed by Tom Hooper and written by Nigel Williams, starring Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth I of England. The series covers the final 24 years of Elizabeth’s nearly 45-year reign, focusing on her personal relationships and political challenges. Part 1 centers on her relationship with the Earl of Leicester (Jeremy Irons), while Part 2 shifts to her later relationship with the Earl of Essex (Hugh Dancy).
