Season 4 is set two to three years after the Tobin case, with Ellen Parsons now working at Nye, Everett & Polk and seeking more challenging legal work, while Patty Hewes continues her high-stakes litigation career (). Ellen reconnects with her high school friend Chris Sanchez, who has recently left High Star, a private security firm involved in U.S. government operations in Afghanistan. Suspecting foul play in Chris’s experiences, Ellen enlists Patty’s help to investigate the company, despite warnings about the risks.
